The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Maitland booed when Lillestrom FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dorsey Savage didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clyde Kirkland made an important save on a dangerous shot by Freeman Boyer in the 9th minute. Clyde Kirkland was a little too slow when Freeman Boyer got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 9th minute. The score was now 1-0. Mario Dudley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Francisco Nash had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walker Barker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Nash in the 29th minute of the match. Freeman Boyer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rdth minute of the game Mario Dudley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lillestrom FC's Clyde Kirkland was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Mario Dudley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Maitland's Mario Dudley dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Mario Dudley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Clyde Kirkland tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kendrick Harvey kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Walker Barker didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 61st minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. Francisco Nash succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 64th playminute. In the 68th minute, Francisco Nash got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Walker Barker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman Hall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norman Hall in the 82nd minute of play forced Maitland's goalkeeper Walker Barker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walker Barker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Hall in the 89th minute of play. Mario Dudley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Lillestrom FC's Jules Rowell got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 94th match minute, Lillestrom FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jules Rowell to maneuver through the defense. Stuart Gour charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stuart Gour the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 95 minutes into the game, one of Lillestrom FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.
