Spectators: 6718 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gerard Bousquet took the kick off in the first half of the match. Odis Ball took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Buford Gamache. Codroy FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 1-0 became the score in the 10th minute when Gerard Bousquet elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Rich Arias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Presley in the 15th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Codroy FC's zone, Gerard Bousquet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Buford Gamache came out of the goal and Gerard Bousquet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Joey Kiser got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerard Bousquet in the 20th minute of play forced Codroy FC's goalkeeper Buford Gamache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerard Bousquet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 24 minutes, Gerard Bousquet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elphinstone AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerard Bousquet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alvaro Presley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Buford Gamache was a little too slow when Gerard Bousquet got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 2-1. After a rather tough play, Codroy FC's Brain Pierce got a free kick in the 36th minute. 38 minutes in the game Odis Ball after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Buford Gamache. A very good opportunity. Gerard Bousquet struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Buford Gamache didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elphinstone AFC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Presley in the 45th minute of play forced Elphinstone AFC's goalkeeper Rich Arias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After having played for 51 minutes, Raul Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Codroy FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 53rd minute of the match Brain Pierce sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rich Arias skillfully saved the ball. Gerard Bousquet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Buford Gamache read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Raul Marquez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Rich Arias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Raul Marquez came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Codroy FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raul Marquez couldn't finish the play. Codroy FC's Buford Gamache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerard Bousquet in the 73rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvaro Presley in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rich Arias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 78th minute, Alvaro Presley fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rich Arias, passed just outside the right post. In the 79th match minute, Elphinstone AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Bienvenue to maneuver through the defense. After 80 minutes, Yong Brandt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Codroy FC and the Elphinstone AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Gerard Bousquet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvaro Presley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Codroy FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
