Wayne Hopson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Marcellin Warren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 6 minutes into the game, Sebastian Meza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Povungnetuk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marlboro the free kick. After a rather tough play, Povungnetuk's Sebastian Meza got a free kick in the 6th minute. Marcellin Warren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Philbert Larkin went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Philbert Larkin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Marcellin Warren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saul Lund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Henry Byers made a huge save. In the 23rd minute Wayne Hopson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcellin Warren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wayne Hopson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the match, Marlboro's goal looked a bit too open when Enoch Christiansen came free, but Henry Byers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Philbert Larkin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcellin Warren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Enoch Christiansen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Marlboro's Ahmad Oliver got a free kick in the 40th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Philbert Larkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marlboro's supporters rose to their feet, but Philbert Larkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcellin Warren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Enoch Christiansen was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Terrance Williamson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcellin Warren. Terrance Williamson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 56th minute Enoch Christiansen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Byers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Povungnetuk's zone, Philbert Larkin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcellin Warren came out of the goal and Philbert Larkin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wayne Hopson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcellin Warren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philbert Larkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Wayne Hopson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcellin Warren having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Philbert Larkin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcellin Warren was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. A collision led to Marlboro getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Philbert Larkin hit a great ball. If Wayne Hopson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Willie Huot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wayne Hopson struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Marcellin Warren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marlboro. Eldridge Weber kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Philbert Larkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marlboro's supporters rose to their feet, but Philbert Larkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcellin Warren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 81 minutes, Wayne Hopson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marlboro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wayne Hopson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philbert Larkin in the 83rd minute of play forced Povungnetuk's goalkeeper Marcellin Warren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd match minute, Povungnetuk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Meza to maneuver through the defense. Wayne Hopson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Marcellin Warren skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ahmad Oliver hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Marlboro's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
