Spectators: 6726 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) Tangent's Marty Chalifour started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Keven Keen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dana Martin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Abe Waldron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Chilliwack AFC's Augustus Lay got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 17th minute, Marty Chalifour hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. David Brock's late challenge caught a Chilliwack AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Brock helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th match minute, Tangent was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Brock to maneuver through the defense. When Elvin Louis fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tangent's protests and gave Elvin Louis a yellow card for diving instead. Chilliwack AFC's Darrick Pugh proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Chilliwack AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute Prosper Thorpe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keven Keen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute, David Brock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Jamal Archambault hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dana Martin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Keven Keen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dana Martin in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Keven Keen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Prosper Thorpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 55 played minutes Tangent got a freekick which was hit by Santo Crisp. 56 minutes into the game, Prosper Thorpe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Keven Keen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Jimmie Stephens fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tangent's protests and gave Jimmie Stephens a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Chilliwack AFC booed when Tangent was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimmie Stephens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tangent's Ollie Émond was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Darrick Pugh in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Chilliwack AFC's zone, Abe Waldron stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darrick Pugh came out of the goal and Abe Waldron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Tangent's David Brock got a free kick in the 77th minute. Tangent's Keven Keen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Tangent from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Tangent's zone, Prosper Thorpe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keven Keen came out of the goal and Prosper Thorpe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ollie Émond during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Tangent! Keven Keen went to the wrong direction when Rudy Petersen was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. David Brock hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
