Spectators: 6715 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1715, VIP seats: 0) Marty Chalifour started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. If Reynaldo Webb had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valleyfield FC's Deon Gipson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marty Chalifour in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Valleyfield FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marty Chalifour came free, but Deon Gipson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaston Petrie in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keven Keen saved Tangent from getting behind. Keven Keen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Petrie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santo Crisp hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Tangent's zone, Reynaldo Webb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keven Keen came out of the goal and Reynaldo Webb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reynaldo Webb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Keven Keen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30thth minute of the game Gaston Petrie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tangent's Keven Keen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Keven Keen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Petrie in the 36th minute of play. Deon Gipson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marty Chalifour, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute Gaston Petrie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keven Keen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Gaston Petrie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valleyfield FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaston Petrie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Keven Keen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 48 played minutes Tangent got a freekick which was hit by Keith Guidry. Bernie Sands was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 49th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaston Petrie made a kick off. After 53 played minutes Tangent got a freekick which was hit by Abe Waldron. Tangent's Keven Keen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Petrie in the 59th minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Tangent's goalkeeper Keven Keen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reynaldo Webb. The supporters of Valleyfield FC booed when Tangent was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jamal Archambault didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute Gaston Petrie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keven Keen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute Marty Chalifour shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deon Gipson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gaston Petrie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reynaldo Webb got free with Keven Keen in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tangent's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Reynaldo Webb scored to the left of an out of position Keven Keen, making the score, 0-1. Reynaldo Webb scored 0-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Keven Keen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Reynaldo Webb could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Keven Keen made a huge save. Marty Chalifour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abe Waldron in the 97th minute of play forced Valleyfield FC's goalkeeper Deon Gipson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
