After 11 played minutes Deschambault got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Benjamin. After a rather tough play, Marlboro's Tyrone Grady got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 24th match minute, Deschambault was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Monty Sheldon to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Deschambault's goalkeeper Ali Lee had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wayne Hopson. When Philbert Larkin came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Marlboro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Philbert Larkin couldn't finish the play. Norbert Bridges hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Wayne Hopson charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wayne Hopson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Deschambault booed when Marlboro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wayne Hopson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Philbert Larkin to make the kick off. Wayne Hopson got in the 54th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Ali Lee handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Wayne Hopson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Lee having to interfere. After having played for 58 minutes, Philbert Larkin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marlboro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Philbert Larkin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Philbert Larkin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Lee having to interfere. Wayne Hopson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Ali Lee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Philbert Larkin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marlboro's supporters rose to their feet, but Philbert Larkin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ali Lee breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Loic Chauvin kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Wayne Hopson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ali Lee having to make a save. Loic Chauvin's late challenge caught a Marlboro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Loic Chauvin helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Deschambault fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! Henry Byers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norbert Bridges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Marlboro's Ahmad Oliver got a free kick in the 84th minute. Wayne Hopson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ali Lee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wayne Hopson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Lee having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Terrance Williamson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Marlboro had played much better football throughout.
