Spectators: 7194 (Terracing: 5594, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Eliseo Dupéré kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the game, Randell Conner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bathurst FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montreal FC the free kick. After 3 played minutes Bathurst FC got a freekick which was hit by Randell Conner. Olin Frazier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Lyndon Stark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Montreal FC's zone, Guy McGrath stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lyndon Stark came out of the goal and Guy McGrath tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Montreal FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Humbert Herrington hit a great ball. Guy McGrath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Lyndon Stark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Randell Conner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Randell Conner took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lyndon Stark. Lyndon Stark dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Guy McGrath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Bathurst FC's Martin Irwin got control of the ball when Lenny Meunier tried to sneak it across the goal line. Randell Conner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Montreal FC's Lyndon Stark played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guy McGrath in the 33rd minute of play. Lenny Meunier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Martin Irwin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Bathurst FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guy McGrath stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Bathurst FC's Philippe Lanctot got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute of the match Winfred Choi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Martin Irwin skillfully saved the ball. Guy McGrath hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Humbert Herrington's late challenge caught a Bathurst FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Humbert Herrington helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th minute, Humbert Herrington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lyndon Stark showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guy McGrath in the 57th minute of the match. Guy McGrath's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lyndon Stark read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rd minute Eliseo Dupéré shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Irwin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenny Meunier in the 66th minute of play forced Bathurst FC's goalkeeper Martin Irwin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseo Dupéré recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lenny Meunier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Randell Conner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Lyndon Stark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Randell Conner got free with Lyndon Stark in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guy McGrath's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lyndon Stark read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. After 82 played minutes Bathurst FC got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Franklin. Montreal FC's Winfred Choi couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Bathurst FC. Wesley Lay hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Bathurst FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
