In the 7th minute, Roosevelt Poulin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Merrill Hills in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kyle Kendrick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Merrill Hills sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josef Browning blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nestor Espinoza having to make a save. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Beaverlodge AFC's goalkeeper Nestor Espinoza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fausto Khan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nestor Espinoza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Merrill Hills received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Kyle Kendrick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Merrill Hills's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kyle Kendrick was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. The supporters of Nigadu AFC booed when Beaverlodge AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Floyd Edmonds didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, Merrill Hills left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Beaverlodge AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Josef Browning to strike the kick off in the second half. If Josef Browning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Merrill Hills in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kyle Kendrick saved Nigadu AFC from getting behind. In the 73rd minute, Roosevelt Poulin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nestor Espinoza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josef Browning in the 88th minute of the match. Fausto Khan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Espinoza having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Beaverlodge AFC's zone, Fausto Khan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Espinoza came out of the goal and Fausto Khan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Beaverlodge AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Beaverlodge AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
