Spectators: 6734 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Grady Kline took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith McCullough in the 12th minute of play forced Sperling's goalkeeper Steve Carlton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sylvain Hampton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bryce Keith, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bryce Keith in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sylvain Hampton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Grady Kline's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sylvain Hampton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Bryce Keith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30thth minute of the game Bryce Keith who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zehner AFC's Sylvain Hampton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Waylon Swanson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Steve Carlton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Zehner AFC booed when Sperling was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augustin Gregg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Sperling's Numbers LondeLalonde got a free kick in the 35th minute. Waylon Swanson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sperling's Steve Carlton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keith McCullough in the 37th minute of play. Waylon Swanson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th match minute, Zehner AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keith McCullough to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the game, Damien Lepage was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zehner AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sperling the free kick. A collision led to Zehner AFC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Damien Lepage hit a great ball. In the 49th minute Sperling were awarded a corner. Emmanuel Lewis went to the cornerflag to take it. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a rather tough play, Sperling's Herb Bacon got a free kick in the 55th minute. Grady Kline blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sylvain Hampton having to make a save. In the 59th minute Grady Kline shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sylvain Hampton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sylvain Hampton made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Grady Kline sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Zehner AFC's Sylvain Hampton got control of the ball when Bryce Keith tried to sneak it across the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Zehner AFC's Waylon Swanson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Steve Carlton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Sperling's zone, Keith McCullough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steve Carlton came out of the goal and Keith McCullough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 70 played minutes Sperling got a freekick which was hit by Hercule Roach. Steve Carlton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waylon Swanson in the 71st minute of play. In the 74th minute, one of Sperling:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sperling. Steve Carlton went to the wrong direction when Rayford Bolduc was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Sperling's Steve Carlton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keith McCullough in the 78th minute of play. When Zehner AFC's Waylon Swanson in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sperling's goalie prevented a goal. Steve Carlton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keith McCullough in the 82nd minute of the match. Hercule Roach sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute, Zehner AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bryce Keith fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 91 minutes into the match, Sperling's goal looked a bit too open when Waylon Swanson came free, but Steve Carlton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Keith McCullough managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zehner AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Keith McCullough was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Keith McCullough in the 96th minute of play forced Sperling's goalkeeper Steve Carlton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 97 minutes, Augustin Gregg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sperling and the Zehner AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Augustin Gregg kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Steve Carlton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keith McCullough in the 99th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Zehner AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sperling had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
