The supporters of Whitla hc booed when Portapique AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grégoire Simmons didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Grégoire Simmons made a precise shot to the right of Hoyt Hughes. Whitla hc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 23rd minute, Juan Busby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Portapique AFC's Mohammad Duplessis got a free kick in the 24th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Whitla hc's Juan Busby sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stacy Montoya narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stacy Montoya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Busby in the 32nd minute of play. Christian Carpenter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hoyt Hughes having to interfere. Hoyt Hughes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francesco Inman went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Murray Deschênes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Stacy Montoya when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 48 minutes into the match, Portapique AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Busby came free, but Stacy Montoya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christian Carpenter to strike the kick off in the second half. Portapique AFC's Grégoire Simmons got his second yellow card of the match in the 52nd minute. The referee ordered Grégoire Simmons off the ground. Grégoire Simmons kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Francesco Inman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 57 played minutes Whitla hc got a freekick which was hit by Larry Barnett. Francesco Inman might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hoyt Hughes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francesco Inman ran back to his position shaking his head. 60 minutes into the match, Portapique AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Larry Barnett came free, but Stacy Montoya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stacy Montoya came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Whitla hc's Murray Deschênes. But to his dismay, Murray Deschênes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Murray Deschênes in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stacy Montoya saved Portapique AFC from getting behind. Elliott Bryan, 74 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Juan Busby's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stacy Montoya read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Francesco Inman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Hoyt Hughes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 82 played minutes Whitla hc got a freekick which was hit by Larry Barnett. Murray Deschênes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Stacy Montoya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francesco Inman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 91 minutes, Gratien Morris managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portapique AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gratien Morris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Whitla hc supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portapique AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Portapique AFC.
