The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adan Picard made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Moses Fields sent off a good shot on target. Malonton's Ron Sands got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Malonton's Aurelio Torrez got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Malonton's Perry Duplessis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danial Schumacher in the 24th minute of play. If Moses Fields had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Moses Fields ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adan Picard was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Moses Fields fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adan Picard having to interfere. 40 minutes into the game, Josef Cuevas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sandspit AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malonton the free kick. Sandspit AFC:s Adan Picard showed great skill when he stopped Didier Pomerleau:s penalty. Adan Picard came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Malonton's Didier Pomerleau. But to his dismay, Didier Pomerleau quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Danial Schumacher was the one to do the kick off. Bud Smart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perry Duplessis having to interfere. A collision led to Sandspit AFC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Paschal Cabrera hit a great ball. In the 61st minute Sandspit AFC were awarded a corner. Josef Cuevas went to the cornerflag to take it. Sandspit AFC's Josef Cuevas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Perry Duplessis in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Aurelio Torrez got free in front of the goal in the 77th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Adan Picard was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Bud Smart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Perry Duplessis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danial Schumacher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armel Stinson charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armel Stinson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Armel Stinson kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Johnathon Wallace's late challenge caught a Malonton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
