In the 6th minute Victor Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Griffith saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 9th minute of the match Roderick Bearden shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edwardo Conley showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Merrickville FC's Edwardo Conley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Winston in the 10th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Merrickville FC's goalkeeper Edwardo Conley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benedict McCabe. After 12 played minutes Dennis Winston rounded Merrickville FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Dennis Winston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Edwardo Conley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Benedict McCabe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Merrickville FC's zone, Dennis Winston stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edwardo Conley came out of the goal and Dennis Winston tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benedict McCabe's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Edwardo Conley skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 27 minutes into the match, Maymont's goal looked a bit too open when Garrett Cunningham came free, but Malcolm Griffith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Merrickville FC's Garrett Cunningham got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Garrett Cunningham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Malcolm Griffith tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Victor Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Malcolm Griffith stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Garrett Cunningham's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 37th minute, Jerold Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Garrett Cunningham struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Malcolm Griffith didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merrickville FC. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Santana in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Malcolm Griffith prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Winston in the 59th minute of play forced Merrickville FC's goalkeeper Edwardo Conley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dennis Winston's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edwardo Conley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Benedict McCabe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Edwardo Conley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Garrett Cunningham in the 95thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Malcolm Griffith, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Maymont were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Merrickville FC for a fine match.
