In the 15th minute, Douglas Couet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jeffry Yazzie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Alain Connelly got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Earle Napier hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. If Buster McDaniel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Buster McDaniel put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Fredric Lacombe. Jeffry Yazzie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredric Lacombe having to interfere. Mulgrave's Alain Connelly got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Douglas Couet to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Mulgrave got a corner. Piquitonay FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Earle Napier ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Dimitri Franks heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piquitonay FC's goalkeeper Nestor Despins, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nestor Despins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Couet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nestor Despins had great luck who in the 76thth minute grab hold of the ball when Douglas Couet from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 77th minute Jeffry Yazzie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fredric Lacombe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeffry Yazzie in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fredric Lacombe saved Mulgrave from getting behind. In the 83rd minute Lambert Tharp suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. When Dudley Dubé fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mulgrave's protests and gave Dudley Dubé a yellow card for diving instead. In the 84th minute, Dudley Dubé hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Mulgrave getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Anderson Ernst hit a great ball. In the 90th minute Douglas Couet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Despins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Anderson Ernst was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mulgrave's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piquitonay FC the free kick. A collision led to Mulgrave getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Anderson Ernst hit a great ball. Nestor Despins made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Alain Connelly sent off a good shot on target. Mulgrave's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
