After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Tyrell Christopher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brancepeth AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tyrell Christopher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edwardo Conley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Garrett Cunningham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otha Braden having to interfere. Otha Braden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyrell Christopher in the 19th minute of play forced Merrickville FC's goalkeeper Edwardo Conley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 22 minutes of play, Merrickville FC's Garrett Cunningham made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victor Santana to strike the kick off in the second half. Mitchel Smith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Edwardo Conley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Brancepeth AFC's Otha Braden got control of the ball when Garrett Cunningham tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brancepeth AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jean Norris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brancepeth AFC's Otha Braden played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Santana in the 83rd minute of play. In the 89th minute, Marlon Hanson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mitchel Smith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edwardo Conley having to interfere. The Merrickville FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
