Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Victor Santana kicked off to start the match. In the 5thth minute of the game Victor Santana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mulgrave's Fredric Lacombe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Victor Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alain Connelly in the 12th minute of play forced Merrickville FC's goalkeeper Edwardo Conley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richard Nixon was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 13 minutes into the match. Alain Connelly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Fredric Lacombe managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Merrickville FC's Garrett Cunningham fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Merrickville FC's Garrett Cunningham came free and shot a quick shot against goal 25 minutes in the game, fortunately Fredric Lacombe had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Alain Connelly recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Mulgrave booed when Merrickville FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marlon Hanson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Douglas Couet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute, Benton Mott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Earle Napier was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 42nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Alain Connelly had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Alain Connelly managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mulgrave's supporters rose to their feet, but Alain Connelly was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edwardo Conley breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 51 played minutes Merrickville FC got a freekick which was hit by Benton Mott. Douglas Couet might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwardo Conley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Douglas Couet ran back to his position shaking his head. After 60 played minutes Mulgrave got a freekick which was hit by Dudley Dubé. In the 61st minute, Garrett Cunningham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 66th minute, Douglas Couet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Douglas Couet might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwardo Conley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Douglas Couet ran back to his position shaking his head. 75 minutes into the match, Merrickville FC's goalkeeper Edwardo Conley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alain Connelly. An unexpected shot in the 82nd minute by Alain Connelly got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Edwardo Conley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Couet, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. After having played for 92 minutes, Wyatt Fontenot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mulgrave's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wyatt Fontenot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edwardo Conley made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Alain Connelly sent off a good shot on target. The Mulgrave supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mulgrave would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
