Debden Stadium
Spectators: 6732 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Leon Davenport started the match with the kick off. If Lambert Chavez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Stevie Hope fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Debden FC's protests and gave Stevie Hope a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes Debden FC got a freekick which was hit by Stevie Hope. Laurent Lentz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Davenport in the 9th minute of the match. Santo Butcher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lonny Caron in the 14th minute of play. After having played for 16 minutes, Lambert Chavez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Debden FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lambert Chavez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lonny Caron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Santo Butcher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 20 minutes of play, McKague's Gustavo Atwood made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Laurent Lentz was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Lambert Chavez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Leon Davenport got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 38 minutes into the match, McKague's goalkeeper Santo Butcher had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lambert Chavez. 40 minutes into the match, Debden FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Atwood came free, but Laurent Lentz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Gustavo Atwood had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Laurent Lentz. Debden FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustavo Atwood was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 46th minute Lonny Caron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santo Butcher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lonny Caron stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lambert Chavez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Santo Butcher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santo Butcher came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Debden FC's Lambert Chavez. But to his dismay, Lambert Chavez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Lambert Chavez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lambert Chavez struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Santo Butcher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Debden FC. After 68 played minutes Debden FC got a freekick which was hit by Clifford Gallagher. In the 75th minute, Lonny Caron left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Debden FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Gustavo Atwood was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 80th minute. McKague's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Gustavo Atwood came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the McKague fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Atwood couldn't finish the play. Laurent Lentz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leon Davenport went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. If Leon Davenport had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reed Yarbrough kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Leon Davenport received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Laurent Lentz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched McKague eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
