Chimo's Antwan Baez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Palmer Chamberlain in the 15th minute of play. Joseph Heath's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pete Mabry read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Bradford FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stacy Redd came free, but Pete Mabry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Chimo's Antwan Baez got control of the ball when Arnaud Senneville tried to sneak it across the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Bradford FC's Palmer Chamberlain sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antwan Baez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Bradford FC's zone, Stacy Redd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pete Mabry came out of the goal and Stacy Redd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Joseph Heath came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Chimo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joseph Heath couldn't finish the play. Joseph Heath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Pete Mabry tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Palmer Chamberlain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Joseph Heath made the kick off in the second half. Pete Mabry came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Chimo's Stacy Redd. But to his dismay, Stacy Redd quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 55th minute of the match, Stacy Redd got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pete Mabry was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 57 minutes into the match, Bradford FC's goalkeeper Pete Mabry had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stacy Redd. Antwan Baez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Palmer Chamberlain, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chimo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joseph Heath was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Stacy Redd came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Chimo fans jumped to their feet.
