After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Eustache Loomis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Broadlands AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eustache Loomis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Elwood Lamour breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 13 minutes, Waylon Duranseau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Broadlands AFC and the Yale players grew even worse after the yellow card. 12 minutes into the game, one of Broadlands AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 14th minute there was a penalty for Yale. Coy Marks stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Shaun Rhodes. 0-1. If Milton Abraham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Broadlands AFC's zone, Milton Abraham stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shaun Rhodes came out of the goal and Milton Abraham tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 25 played minutes Broadlands AFC got a freekick which was hit by Randolph Howard. Elwood Lamour took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hershel Toth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milton Abraham in the 35th minute of play forced Broadlands AFC's goalkeeper Shaun Rhodes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute Hershel Toth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elwood Lamour saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Yale's goalkeeper Elwood Lamour had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eustache Loomis. After 42 minutes of play, Yale's Milton Abraham made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shaun Rhodes was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Huey Snider in the 46th minute of play forced Broadlands AFC's goalkeeper Shaun Rhodes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hershel Toth to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Broadlands AFC booed when Yale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Eason didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yale's Elwood Lamour played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustache Loomis in the 56th minute of play. A collision led to Broadlands AFC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Randolph Howard hit a great ball. Milton Abraham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Shaun Rhodes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milton Abraham in the 69th minute of play forced Broadlands AFC's goalkeeper Shaun Rhodes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Milton Abraham received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Shaun Rhodes came out and tried to block the shot, but Milton Abraham slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 73rd minute. 80 minutes into the match, Broadlands AFC's goalkeeper Shaun Rhodes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Huey Snider. In the 82nd minute, Elvis Herndon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hershel Toth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elwood Lamour didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hershel Toth went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. The Yale supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Yale would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
