Spectators: 6756 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1756, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fabrice Demers took the kick off in the first half of the match. Valentin Mazuret received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Stan Clayton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 16 minutes, Esmé Jarvis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alma AFC and the Gowganda players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Gowganda booed when Alma AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esmé Jarvis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Gowganda's Lanny Louis got a free kick in the 18th minute. After 20 minutes, Casey Douglas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gowganda and the Alma AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th minute, Casey Douglas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eloy Bateman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. During the 23rd minute of the match Casey Douglas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Casey Douglas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Eloy Bateman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herbert Moreno having to interfere. A collision led to Alma AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Alberto Quick hit a great ball. Stan Clayton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Mazuret, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luke Hickey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Gowganda's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Bateman came free, but Herbert Moreno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Herbert Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Bateman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, Alma AFC's Luke Hickey nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Herbert Moreno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eloy Bateman was the one to do the kick off. Denis Rodriguez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Stan Clayton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Quick charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Quick the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alberto Quick kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Esmé Jarvis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 63rd minute, Luke Hickey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, Alberto Quick notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Gowganda's Herbert Moreno. Herbert Moreno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eloy Bateman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valentin Mazuret's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stan Clayton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Valentin Mazuret could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Stan Clayton made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eloy Bateman in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Herbert Moreno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Eloy Bateman came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Alma AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eloy Bateman couldn't finish the play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gowganda players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Alma AFC.
