Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) Melocheville's Josh Goguen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Josh Goguen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lynn Akers having to make a save. When Louis Mahoney fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Burgis FC's protests and gave Louis Mahoney a yellow card for diving instead. Louis Mahoney kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. The supporters of Melocheville booed when Burgis FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neal Goldman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 played minutes Burgis FC got a freekick which was hit by Neal Goldman. A hard shot 12 in the game by Simon Morris from a close distance when the talented Lynn Akers managed to make a qualified save. Burgis FC's players were relieved. Josh Goguen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lynn Akers having to interfere. Melocheville's Simon Morris got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Louis Mahoney came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Burgis FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louis Mahoney couldn't finish the play. Simon Morris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Lynn Akers made a huge save. Burgis FC's Lynn Akers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josh Goguen in the 34th minute of play. If Simon Morris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lynn Akers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josh Goguen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 1-0 became the score in the 46th minute when Josh Goguen elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Louis Mahoney made a kick off. Florian Puckett took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lynn Akers. Burgis FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 57th minute, Simon Morris made a precise shot to the right of Lynn Akers. Burgis FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Miguel Putnam hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Simon Morris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Josh Goguen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lynn Akers having to make a save. In the 72nd minute, Josh Goguen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Burgis FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Damian Staley hit a great ball. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Melocheville's goalkeeper Cristopher Wynn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Simon Morris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian Staley charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damian Staley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Damian Staley kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Lynn Akers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Morris in the 87th minute of the match. Burgis FC's Lynn Akers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Morris in the 88th minute of play. Melocheville's Simon Morris got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, Louis Mahoney fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cristopher Wynn, passed just outside the right post. Cristopher Wynn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louis Mahoney, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Burgis FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Melocheville.
