A very good chance. 9 minutes into the match, Imagine Dragon FC's Daryl Zapata sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Florencio Dobbins narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Daryl Zapata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Dobbins having to interfere. The supporters of Imagine Dragon FC booed when Lanigan AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luther Dupree didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Rhett Coates kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Walton Gage. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. In the 19th minute of the match, Rhett Coates tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Walton Gage saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Lanigan AFC's Florencio Dobbins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daryl Zapata in the 23rd minute of play. Germain Stringer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Dobbins having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Germain Stringer in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florencio Dobbins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rhett Coates received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Walton Gage tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A long shot from Jules Gallegos in the 42nd minute of play was well struck, but Walton Gage made a really good save at the right post. In the 44th minute, Lanigan AFC's Erich Larsen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Walton Gage. Walton Gage yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daryl Zapata to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Imagine Dragon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Erich Larsen came free, but Walton Gage reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Erich Larsen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lanigan AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Erich Larsen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walton Gage breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Lanigan AFC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Jules Gallegos hit a great ball. Elias Holloway kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Florencio Dobbins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daryl Zapata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Imagine Dragon FC's zone, Rhett Coates stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walton Gage came out of the goal and Rhett Coates tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute, Jean McFarland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erich Larsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rhett Coates sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 91 minutes, Erich Larsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lanigan AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erich Larsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Imagine Dragon FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Lanigan AFC.
