After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Jules Bunch managed to get in a good position for a shot. Neguac's supporters rose to their feet, but Jules Bunch was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudy Plummer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ambroise Gilbert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Rudy Plummer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ambroise Gilbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dee Engel succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 19th playminute. Gail Stearns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norman Ritchie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ponoka AFC booed when Neguac was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Burks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bennie Berg was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 27th minute. Ponoka AFC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dee Engel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dee Engel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ponoka AFC's zone, Jules Bunch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudy Plummer came out of the goal and Jules Bunch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Ponoka AFC's Rudy Plummer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Ponoka AFC from getting a goal against them. Gail Stearns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Ritchie in the 57th minute of play. Norman Ritchie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Gail Stearns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Norman Ritchie ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gail Stearns was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If Jules Bunch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Neguac's Ambroise Gilbert dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Dee Engel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Gail Stearns tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Jules Bunch had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rudy Plummer. Ponoka AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jules Bunch was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Jules Bunch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 98th minute Norman Ritchie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gail Stearns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
