Bernard Gousse started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camille Griffith in the 4th minute of play forced FC Steaua Bucuresti's goalkeeper Van Deaton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Highgate AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bernard Gousse came free, but Darius Vincent reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darius Vincent made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernard Gousse in the 10th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Blaine Spears during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 11th minute, Blaine Spears hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Curtis Hong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Onesime Labossière sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Highgate AFC's attack was well implemented in the 24th minute, but when Curtis Hong was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After 36 minutes, Curtis Hong made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Steaua Bucuresti's Van Deaton tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 52 minutes of play FC Steaua Bucuresti's Blaine Spears was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 53rd minute, Blaine Spears hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Onesime Labossière came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Van Deaton could save by the left post. When Highgate AFC's Curtis Hong in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Van Deaton showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Onesime Labossière could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Van Deaton made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Highgate AFC's Camille Griffith got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 73rd minute, Curtis Hong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Onesime Labossière's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Van Deaton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Van Deaton made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Onesime Labossière sent off a good shot on target. Onesime Labossière fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Van Deaton having to interfere. Mikel Sloan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Darius Vincent tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th play minute Jacinto Jacob came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Van Deaton. 0-3. Highgate AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
