When Hamilton FC's Charles Fluet in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Skiff's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyd Pierce in the 7th minute of play forced Skiff's goalkeeper Freddie Cooke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kirk Hilton was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. With a little luck, Hamilton FC's Maynard Creech got control of the ball when Sébastien Mata tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Hamilton FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Dion Mims hit a great ball. 0-1 became the score in the 16th minute when Charles Fluet elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Charles Fluet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Malcolm Pepper hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. When Hamilton FC's Charles Fluet, in the 22nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Hamilton FC. Freddie Cooke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boyd Pierce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Boyd Pierce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Robbie Ouellet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Maynard Creech tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dion Mims kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hamilton FC's goalkeeper Maynard Creech, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hamilton FC's Boyd Pierce got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 45 minutes, Sébastien Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skiff's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sébastien Mata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Hamilton FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Boyd Pierce was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Skiff's zone, Boyd Pierce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddie Cooke came out of the goal and Boyd Pierce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Sébastien Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Hamilton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Robbie Ouellet came free, but Maynard Creech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 66 minutes, Prince Varela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Skiff and the Hamilton FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 66th minute, Prince Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Kirk Hilton fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Hamilton FC booed when Skiff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prince Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Freddie Cooke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boyd Pierce, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Mitchel Stringer was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Sébastien Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 95 minutes into the match, Robbie Ouellet had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maynard Creech. Hamilton FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robbie Ouellet was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The Hamilton FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Skiff from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
