The referee ignored Kangerthialuksoak's protests and gave Benton Jolly a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Christophe Potter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Duvernay FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Christophe Potter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arden Monroe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arden Monroe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mitchell Storey, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Lindsey Ring was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 44th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albert Reeves made a kick off. Christophe Potter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arden Monroe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Duvernay FC's zone, Guy Brandt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Terry Baxter came out of the goal and Guy Brandt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Albert Reeves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. The supporters of Kangerthialuksoak booed when Duvernay FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marin Laberge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kangerthialuksoak's Lindsey Ring couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 85th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Duvernay FC. In the 92nd minute, Shawn Kilgore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Duvernay FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
