In the 12th match minute, Petrolia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sam Donovan to maneuver through the defense. Guy Brandt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Billy McCloud when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Petrolia AFC's goalkeeper Billy McCloud, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Michale Grove sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Petrolia AFC's Ryan Rubio got a free kick in the 37th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guy Brandt got free with Billy McCloud in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 43 minutes into the game, Shawn Kilgore was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kangerthialuksoak's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Petrolia AFC the free kick. A collision led to Kangerthialuksoak getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Shawn Kilgore hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Theirn Dougherty stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Albert Reeves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Billy McCloud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guy Brandt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billy McCloud having to interfere. In the 61stth minute of the game Guy Brandt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Petrolia AFC's Billy McCloud was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arden Monroe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theirn Dougherty, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. When Albert Reeves came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Kangerthialuksoak fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albert Reeves couldn't finish the play. Billy McCloud made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Reeves in the 70th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Willis Hayden had to leave the field with a concussion. Sam Donovan got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Kangerthialuksoak booed when Petrolia AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sam Donovan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guy Brandt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billy McCloud having to interfere. If Michale Grove had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kangerthialuksoak's Arden Monroe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Kangerthialuksoak from getting a goal against them. Guy Brandt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Michale Grove recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Michale Grove could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Arden Monroe made a huge save. The Kangerthialuksoak supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Petrolia AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Petrolia AFC.
