Roland Jean's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Werner Johns read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Roland Jean put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Werner Johns. After a defensive mix-up in Leclercville's zone, Wilson Newman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Austin Simon came out of the goal and Wilson Newman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leclercville's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roland Jean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Werner Johns didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Leclercville. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 56th minute, Roland Jean got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 96 played minutes Roberval got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Kellogg. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Roberval walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
