After a rather tough play, Cobourg FC's Bryon Comer got a free kick in the 4th minute. Clinton Stovall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Norbert in the 15th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Ivugivik's Ivan Norbert sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clinton Stovall narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 18th minute of the match, Theirn Houser got a very nice opportunity to score, but Clinton Stovall was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 23rd minute, Ivan Norbert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Laverne Stevens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laverne Stevens struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Chase Rowe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cobourg FC. The audience was convinced that Ivan Norbert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clinton Stovall was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivan Norbert made a kick off. Theirn Houser struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Clinton Stovall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ivugivik. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivan Norbert in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clinton Stovall saved Cobourg FC from getting behind. 55 minutes into the match, Ivugivik's goalkeeper Chase Rowe had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roch Acosta. Cobourg FC's Ignace Paquette shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 57th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Chase Rowe but with some difficulty. In the 62nd minute Theirn Houser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clinton Stovall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wilfredo Lécuyer during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Art Keenan struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Clinton Stovall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ivugivik. After having played for 70 minutes, Armand Medina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ivugivik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armand Medina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Constant Joly managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ivugivik's supporters rose to their feet, but Constant Joly was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clinton Stovall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Theirn Houser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Clinton Stovall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roch Acosta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chase Rowe having to interfere. Chase Rowe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laverne Stevens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Theirn Houser came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Ivugivik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Theirn Houser couldn't finish the play. Constant Joly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Cobourg FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cobourg FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
