When Sydney Weber fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shere's protests and gave Sydney Weber a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Shere's David Bériault got a free kick in the 12th minute. Shere's Buddy Lancaster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perceval Dean in the 14th minute of play. When Edgar Robillard came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Shere fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Robillard couldn't finish the play. After 19 played minutes Bend got a freekick which was hit by Marius Velasco. Edgar Robillard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bend's Dong Cornell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Robillard in the 21st minute of play. A collision led to Bend getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Sid Bateman hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sid Brault in the 26th minute of play forced Bend's goalkeeper Dong Cornell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leland Storey hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Shere's Edgar Robillard got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 35 played minutes Bend got a freekick which was hit by Lawrence Kenney. The supporters of Shere booed when Bend was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Truman Auclair didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Robillard might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dong Cornell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgar Robillard ran back to his position shaking his head. Edgar Robillard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lawrence Kenney was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Edgar Robillard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 56 in the game by Perceval Dean from a close distance when the talented Buddy Lancaster managed to make a qualified save. Shere's players were relieved. Buddy Lancaster made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Perceval Dean sent off a good shot on target. Bend's Perceval Dean got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 74th minute of the match, Lawrence Kenney tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Buddy Lancaster saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 75 minutes into the game, Fred Hickman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shere's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bend the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Shere fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 75th minute. Penalty! Perceval Dean's late challenge caught a Shere's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Perceval Dean helped the player get up and apologised. Perceval Dean kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Buddy Lancaster successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 89th minute, Sid Brault hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Buddy Lancaster took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lawrence Kenney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute Lawrence Kenney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Buddy Lancaster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bend's goalkeeper Dong Cornell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Shere's Joel Richards got a free kick in the 98th minute. A hard shot by Leland Storey from long distance, 100 minutes into the match, got Buddy Lancaster's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bend eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
