After a defensive mix-up in Ninga's zone, Dannie Hampton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Colombe Lloyd came out of the goal and Dannie Hampton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Israel McManus, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 26 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Colombe Lloyd was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Jerrell Jorgensen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Ninga defense, Israel McManus kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Colombe Lloyd. The Ninga fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Colombe Lloyd should have stopped the shot. Alden Rudd's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfred Looney read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. If Alden Rudd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cyril Charles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Alfred Looney was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
