Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when François Spaulding took the kick off in the first half of the match. François Spaulding blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gustave Finch having to make a save. 25 minutes into the match, Exeter's goalkeeper Gustave Finch had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by César Guthrie. 27 minutes into the match, Exeter's goal looked a bit too open when François Spaulding came free, but Gustave Finch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denver Caron hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, François Spaulding managed to get in a good position for a shot. Resolution's supporters rose to their feet, but François Spaulding was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustave Finch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Exeter defense, César Guthrie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gustave Finch. The Exeter fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustave Finch should have stopped the shot. César Guthrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gustave Finch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, François Spaulding got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 45 minutes, Dane Demers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Exeter and the Resolution players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Resolution booed when Exeter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dane Demers didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, François Spaulding managed to get in a good position for a shot. Resolution's supporters rose to their feet, but François Spaulding was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustave Finch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicky Hébert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. César Guthrie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustave Finch having to interfere. After some careless play in the Resolution defense, Dorsey Anderson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charles Alvarado. The Resolution fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Charles Alvarado should have stopped the shot. Gustave Finch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from François Spaulding in the 61st minute of play. Gustave Finch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from César Guthrie in the 62nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Exeter's zone, César Guthrie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustave Finch came out of the goal and César Guthrie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. François Spaulding received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Gustave Finch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. François Spaulding's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustave Finch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, François Spaulding notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Exeter's Gustave Finch. Gustave Finch was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If François Spaulding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. François Spaulding might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustave Finch. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. François Spaulding ran back to his position shaking his head. Nicky Hébert might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Charles Alvarado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
