Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julius Castle in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The supporters of Vanguard booed when Dover FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Douglass Larkin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 15 played minutes, Vanguard's Jerold Lloyd shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jamie Hurley came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vanguard reached it. Jeromy Larson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Dover FC defense, Valentin Cyr kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jamie Hurley. The Dover FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jamie Hurley should have stopped the shot. Jamie Hurley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentin Cyr in the 33rd minute of the match. The supporters of Dover FC booed when Vanguard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darnell Delarosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Vanguard's Valentin Cyr sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jamie Hurley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jamie Hurley didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kerry Charlesbois went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Jeromy Larson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chauncey Borden having to interfere.

A collision led to Dover FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Floyd Kidd hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, Dover FC's goalkeeper Jamie Hurley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valentin Cyr. Chauncey Borden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglass Larkin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 63 minutes, Del Guillory managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vanguard's supporters crossed their fingers, but Del Guillory was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julius Castle in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chauncey Borden saved Vanguard from getting behind. Julius Castle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chauncey Borden having to interfere. Chauncey Borden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeromy Larson in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 79th minute, Julius Castle made a precise shot to the right of Chauncey Borden. Vanguard's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 85th minute Del Guillory shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jamie Hurley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Del Guillory had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jamie Hurley was a little too slow when Del Guillory got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 92nd minute. The score was now 1-3. A collision led to Vanguard getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Jim Lyons hit a great ball.
