The supporters of Glenelg AFC booed when Shemogue AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cameron Rouleau didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Jorge Burris managed to get in a good position for a shot. Glenelg AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Burris was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donnie Key breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hubert Grandpré hit a great ball. Sanford German fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donnie Key having to interfere. If Jerold Conley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antoine Carrington hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Donnie Key showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sanford German, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute Glenelg AFC were awarded a corner. Jorge Burris went to the cornerflag to take it. A very nice done corner allowed Rémi Chamberlain to score against Donnie Key in Shemogue AFC's goal. 1-0 after 27 minutes. Sanford German received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Donnie Key tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jerold Conley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Donnie Key made a huge save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stacey Arellano to make the kick off.
