In the 31st minute, one of Murdochville AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Murdochville AFC. In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for Howick FC. Jarred Turgeon stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Huey Varela. 0-3. With a little luck, Howick FC's Walter Vaughn got control of the ball when Daren Sizemore tried to sneak it across the goal line. Huey Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henry Barrett, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Daren Sizemores short, quick shot in the 44thth minute got Walter Vaughn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Richie Albert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lincoln Muller to make the kick off. Lincoln Muller struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Walter Vaughn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Murdochville AFC. 56 minutes into the game, Tyson Mott recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Huey Varela. Tyson Mott showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. With a little luck, Murdochville AFC's Huey Varela got control of the ball when Henry Barrett tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daren Sizemore's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walter Vaughn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Henry Barrett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Huey Varela having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Howick FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daren Sizemore came free, but Walter Vaughn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Howick FC's Richie Albert got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Walter Vaughn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lincoln Muller's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tyson Mott during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Murdochville AFC booed when Howick FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyson Mott didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tyson Mott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tyson Mott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
