After a rather tough play, Mattawa's Fiacre Sims got a free kick in the 5th minute. Gilles Easley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thibault Mata in the 7th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thibault Mata got free with Gilles Easley in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thibault Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Gilles Easley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmundo Palmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Houston Ouellet in the 14th minute of play. Thibault Mata struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Gilles Easley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arichat FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Valentin Despins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mattawa's supporters rose to their feet, but Valentin Despins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmundo Palmer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Valentin Despins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Houston Ouellet struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Edmundo Palmer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mattawa. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The supporters of Arichat FC booed when Mattawa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kris Parr didn't get a good kick on the ball.
