Clyde Trépanier made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Porter Pelchat sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrien Belanger in the 4th minute of play forced Ituna FC's goalkeeper Delbert Gorman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Archie Swain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Delbert Gorman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrien Belanger, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Ituna FC's Delbert Gorman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrien Belanger in the 8th minute of play. Porter Pelchat's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Clyde Trépanier skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jon Salter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Clyde Trépanier having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Jon Salter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clyde Trépanier was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Mark Bonsaint charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mark Bonsaint the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mark Bonsaint kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to Xeneise getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Vincent Sherrill hit a great ball. The supporters of Ituna FC booed when Xeneise was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Law didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ituna FC's Porter Pelchat got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clyde Trépanier made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Porter Pelchat sent off a good shot on target. Clyde Trépanier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jon Salter in the 34th minute of the match. In the 45th minute, one of Ituna FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ituna FC. The referee gave Xeneise a penalty, 47 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Emon Pouchard, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ituna FC's Delbert Gorman. 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jon Salter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Archie Swain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Xeneise's supporters crossed their fingers, but Archie Swain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Xeneise's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Salter came free, but Clyde Trépanier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 55 played minutes Xeneise got a freekick which was hit by Walton Cornell. Leopoldo Law hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Porter Pelchat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ituna FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Porter Pelchat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clyde Trépanier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Walton Cornell during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Xeneise's zone, Porter Pelchat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clyde Trépanier came out of the goal and Porter Pelchat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Xeneise's Vincent Sherrill got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Porter Pelchat might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clyde Trépanier. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Porter Pelchat ran back to his position shaking his head. Porter Pelchat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clyde Trépanier having to interfere. Xeneise's Clyde Trépanier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Salter in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Porter Pelchat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clyde Trépanier was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.
