After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Houston Ouellet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mattawa's supporters rose to their feet, but Houston Ouellet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julian Pariseau breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mattawa were awarded a corner in the 9th minute after Drinnan's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tristan Moreno took the corner. Tristan Moreno made a great header on Mattawa's corner, it was just that Drinnan's Julian Pariseau managed to reach the ball for a save. If Houston Ouellet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Houston Ouellet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the game, Sonny Dufour was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Drinnan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mattawa the free kick. In the 24th match minute, Drinnan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sonny Dufour to maneuver through the defense. Valentin Despins took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julian Pariseau. Julian Pariseau dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Drinnan's Andres Peoples got a free kick in the 28th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Valentin Despins notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Drinnan's Julian Pariseau. Julian Pariseau was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sonny Dufour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Houston Ouellet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian Pariseau having to interfere. Mattawa's Lawrence Hodge got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Drinnan's zone, Valentin Despins stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julian Pariseau came out of the goal and Valentin Despins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilles Easley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfonso Adkins in the 48th minute.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valentin Despins stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Andres Peoples managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Drinnan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andres Peoples was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valentin Despins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian Pariseau having to interfere. In the 59th match minute, Mattawa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiacre Sims to maneuver through the defense. Mattawa's Gilles Easley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rocky Blue in the 61st minute of play. Houston Ouellet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th match minute, Drinnan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnold Rousseau to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the game, Houston Ouellet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Julian Pariseau was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Valentin Despins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian Pariseau having to interfere. Drinnan's Julian Pariseau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Drinnan from getting a goal against them. 81 minutes into the match, Mattawa's Valentin Despins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julian Pariseau narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Houston Ouellet hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 97 minutes into the match, Drinnan's goalkeeper Julian Pariseau had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Houston Ouellet. The Drinnan supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mattawa's performance. The match ended with a win for Mattawa.
