Spurfield AFC's Rudolph Pearce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Porter Byers in the 6th minute of play. When Géraud Burgess came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Oakburn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Géraud Burgess couldn't finish the play. Géraud Burgess fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolph Pearce having to interfere. Rudolph Pearce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Porter Byers in the 14th minute of the match. Harlan Walker hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Géraud Burgess fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolph Pearce having to interfere. Laurent Kincaid kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Gregory Hatcher shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. René Desjardins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcellin Sierra in the 29th minute of the match. If Géraud Burgess had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudolph Pearce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Porter Byers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcellin Sierra made a kick off. Young D'Avis hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. When Porter Byers came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Oakburn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Porter Byers couldn't finish the play. Oakburn's Géraud Burgess got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Oakburn's René Desjardins got control of the ball when Ramon Page tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Oakburn getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Clarence Pollard hit a great ball. René Desjardins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ramon Page went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Kelvin Mullins's late challenge caught a Oakburn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kelvin Mullins helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Oakburn booed when Spurfield AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kelvin Mullins didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Spurfield AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Porter Byers came free, but Rudolph Pearce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Porter Byers in the 71st minute of play forced Spurfield AFC's goalkeeper Rudolph Pearce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Spurfield AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
