When Monte Laberge came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Noranda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Monte Laberge couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Midnapore getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Jamal Yang hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Stephan Melanson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The referee felt a red card was in order, 23 minutes into the game, when Bruno Goldberg put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Noranda fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Midnapore a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Genaro Coats, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Noranda's Elliot Burke. 0-1. Aron Woodson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Noranda's zone, Aron Woodson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliot Burke came out of the goal and Aron Woodson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ignace Gibson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Monte Laberge stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Monte Laberge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 55 minutes, Shane Keith managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Noranda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shane Keith was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th minute Monte Laberge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stephan Melanson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Honeycutt charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Honeycutt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Midnapore booed when Noranda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Honeycutt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the last second Elliot Burke throw himself and got hold of the ball when Aron Woodson in the 72ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. When Jordan Thompson fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Noranda's protests and gave Jordan Thompson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd minute, Jordan Thompson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Monte Laberge struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Stephan Melanson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Noranda. In the 82nd minute, Jewell Staley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jamal Yang kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Jamal Yang charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Midnapore's goal looked a bit too open when Monte Laberge came free, but Stephan Melanson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Midnapore walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
