Piapot AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silas Metivier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Évariste Courtois got free with Paschal Mora in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Piapot AFC's Paschal Mora proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Piapot AFC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Savage in the 17th minute of play forced Wiarton FC's goalkeeper Thaddeus Belanger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Aron Canales was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wiarton FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piapot AFC the free kick. In the 18th minute, Aron Canales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, Wiarton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Florentino Savage came free, but Thaddeus Belanger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paschal Mora made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Évariste Courtois sent off a good shot on target. After 22 played minutes Wiarton FC got a freekick which was hit by Gary Craven. In the 24th minute of the match Heriberto Carr sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thaddeus Belanger skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Wiarton FC's Vaughn Cox got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Évariste Courtois received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Paschal Mora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Wiarton FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ike Grandbois hit a great ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 53rd minute of the match Ricky Atwood sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thaddeus Belanger skillfully saved the ball. Thaddeus Belanger made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Milo Boyles sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Piapot AFC booed when Wiarton FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick Whatley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Wiarton FC! When the match had been going on for 61 minutes, Piapot AFC's Heriberto Carr got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Thaddeus Belanger. Thaddeus Belanger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Milo Boyles's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. 75 minutes into the match, Wiarton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Florentino Savage came free, but Thaddeus Belanger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Milo Boyles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Piapot AFC's zone, Évariste Courtois stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paschal Mora came out of the goal and Évariste Courtois tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee gave Wiarton FC a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gary Craven, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Piapot AFC's Paschal Mora. 3-1. After 91 played minutes Wiarton FC got a freekick which was hit by Vaughn Cox. After a defensive mix-up in Wiarton FC's zone, Milo Boyles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thaddeus Belanger came out of the goal and Milo Boyles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Milo Boyles in the 94thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Thaddeus Belanger, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Wiarton FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
