Lino Neff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Randy Delaney in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Émilien Sheppard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Goodlands's Émilien Sheppard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Goodlands from getting a goal against them. Loren Townsend received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Kieth Finley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute Branden Comer suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geoffrey Christensen during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 12 played minutes Goodlands got a freekick which was hit by Geoffrey Christensen. After 16 minutes of play, Goodlands's Loren Townsend made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kieth Finley was left in no man's land by his defense there! Loren Townsend struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Kieth Finley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goodlands. After a defensive mix-up in Goodlands's zone, Lino Neff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Émilien Sheppard came out of the goal and Lino Neff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Loren Townsend sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lino Neff hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 31st match minute, Hanley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Randy Delaney to maneuver through the defense. Trent Krause kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. After having played for 35 minutes, Lino Neff managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hanley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lino Neff was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Trent Krause blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kieth Finley having to make a save. Kieth Finley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loren Townsend in the 38th minute of play. A collision led to Hanley getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Irwin Stevens hit a great ball. With a little luck, Goodlands's Émilien Sheppard got control of the ball when Lino Neff tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trent Krause was the one to do the kick off. Lino Neff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Loren Townsend received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kieth Finley came out and tried to block the shot, but Loren Townsend slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 64th minute. Irwin Stevens struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Émilien Sheppard didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hanley. Émilien Sheppard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Neff, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. The supporters of Goodlands booed when Hanley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Irwin Stevens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wayne Cano kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Goodlands's zone, Lino Neff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Émilien Sheppard came out of the goal and Lino Neff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Irwin Stevens might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Émilien Sheppard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Irwin Stevens ran back to his position shaking his head. Émilien Sheppard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lino Neff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Goodlands's Trent Krause got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Goodlands booed when Hanley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Randy Delaney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trent Krause fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kieth Finley having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Hanley's goal looked a bit too open when Trent Krause came free, but Kieth Finley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
