Spectators: 6719 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 0) Randy Delaney started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd match minute, Hanley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Branden Comer to maneuver through the defense. When Spencer Gleason got free in front of the goal in the 4th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Kieth Finley was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Saskatoon FC's Pierre Bland proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Saskatoon FC from getting a goal against them. Willard Thorpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kieth Finley having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spencer Gleason in the 20th minute of play forced Hanley's goalkeeper Kieth Finley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lino Neff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre Bland having to interfere. In the 27th minute, Lino Neff left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hanley fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 34 minutes into the match, Hanley's goal looked a bit too open when Fabrice Cummins came free, but Kieth Finley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Hanley defense, Fabrice Cummins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kieth Finley. The Hanley fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kieth Finley should have stopped the shot. Spencer Gleason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Kieth Finley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabrice Cummins's late challenge caught a Hanley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabrice Cummins helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46th minute, Fabrice Cummins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pierre Bland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Randy Delaney in the 48th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabrice Cummins made a kick off. Branden Comer charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Branden Comer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After recieving a nice pass, Saskatoon FC's Eldon Lemieux tried to score from far away in the 53rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Spencer Gleason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lino Neff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Randy Delaney's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pierre Bland was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Pierre Bland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Neff, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Hanley's Lino Neff got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 69 minutes, Spencer Gleason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saskatoon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Spencer Gleason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Hanley's Irwin Stevens got a free kick in the 71st minute. Saskatoon FC's Spencer Gleason came free and shot a quick shot against goal 72 minutes in the game, fortunately Kieth Finley had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 80th minute, Randy Delaney left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Kieth Finley made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Willard Thorpe sent off a good shot on target.
