Spectators: 6728 (Terracing: 5000,
Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 0) Fabrice Cummins started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute Jordan Frederick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierre Bland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th minute of the match Arelee got a corner. Saskatoon FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Duncan ran over to the corner to take the kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Saskatoon FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 6th minute. Penalty! In the 7th minute there was a penalty for Arelee. Abraham Duncan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pierre Bland. 0-1. Ferdinand Schultz kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Jamison Saenz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabrice Cummins in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolf Grier saved Arelee from getting behind. The Saskatoon FC fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Saskatoon FC's Fabrice Cummins looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rolf Grier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Willard Thorpe in the 22nd minute. Spencer Gleason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Rolf Grier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jordan Frederick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Saskatoon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jamison Saenz came free, but Pierre Bland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jamison Saenz in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pierre Bland saved Saskatoon FC from getting behind. If Spencer Gleason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Saskatoon FC defense, Jordan Frederick kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pierre Bland. The Saskatoon FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pierre Bland should have stopped the shot. After 43 played minutes, Saskatoon FC's Merlin Tripp shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rolf Grier came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Saskatoon FC reached it. Rolf Grier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabrice Cummins in the 46th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jordan Frederick stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Arelee defense, Fabrice Cummins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolf Grier. The Arelee fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolf Grier should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jamison Saenz got free with Pierre Bland in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eldon Lemieux kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Jamison Saenz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre Bland having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, Rey Epps was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arelee's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saskatoon FC the free kick. Rey Epps hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. If Jordan Frederick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Saskatoon FC's Eldon Lemieux got a free kick in the 87th minute. Arelee's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
