The audience was convinced that Randy Delaney's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keven Pellerin was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Rogelio Bonami had several of the Hanley's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 36 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Kieth Finley as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 40th minute, Lino Neff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lino Neff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Keven Pellerin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute Randy Delaney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keven Pellerin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Lino Neff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keven Pellerin having to interfere. In the 66th match minute, Lunenburg AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Riquet to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute, Lino Neff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lino Neff got free with Keven Pellerin in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle, Lunenburg AFC could leave the field as winners, despite Hanley having more of the ball for most of the match.
