After a defensive mix-up in Bayfield's zone, Ashley Morin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maria Handy came out of the goal and Ashley Morin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilford Nichols's late challenge caught a Bayfield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Derick Keller in the 95th minute of play forced Bayfield's goalkeeper Maria Handy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bayfield played a much better game than Queenstown FC and deserved their victory. The Queenstown FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
