If Toussaint Esquivel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Altona AFC's Toussaint Esquivel in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Riceton AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Célestin Muniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Ratliff in the 15th minute of play. Célestin Muniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toussaint Esquivel in the 16th minute of the match. Odell Shipman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toussaint Esquivel in the 22nd minute of play forced Riceton AFC's goalkeeper Célestin Muniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hugo Ratliff scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Célestin Muniz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Matthew Bruneau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riceton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Matthew Bruneau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Neely breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Odell Shipman took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Jonathan Neely to make any attempt to save it. If Odell Shipman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Ignace Mallory hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hugo Ratliff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Célestin Muniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Omar Jensen hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hugo Ratliff to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Odell Shipman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Neely saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Odell Shipman struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Jonathan Neely didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Riceton AFC. Jonathan Neely showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Odell Shipman in the 59th minute of the match. Odell Shipman might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Neely. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Odell Shipman ran back to his position shaking his head. Riceton AFC's Matthew Bruneau got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Altona AFC's zone, Odell Shipman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Neely came out of the goal and Odell Shipman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Riceton AFC's goalkeeper Célestin Muniz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Monte Ash hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugo Ratliff in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Célestin Muniz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Toussaint Esquivel got free with Célestin Muniz in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Toussaint Esquivel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Hugo Ratliff came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Altona AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugo Ratliff couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dirk Britt during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 88th match minute, Riceton AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dirk Britt to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute Matthew Bruneau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Neely saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Altona AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
