Spectators: 6717 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1717, VIP seats: 0) Shepard FC's Jerold Beatty started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Derek Edmonds showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerold Beatty, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. A collision led to Edzo AFC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Jonathon Gibson hit a great ball. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Edzo AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chi Brown was slow to take the kick. During this time Shepard FC's players had a chance to rest. After 17 minutes, Noé Jeffries mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shepard FC and the Edzo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Noé Jeffries hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Anton Ruth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Edzo AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anton Ruth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florentin Chu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Absolon Gonzalez in the 22nd minute of play forced Shepard FC's goalkeeper Florentin Chu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute Jerold Beatty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Edmonds saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathon Gibson hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Brandon in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Derek Edmonds saved Edzo AFC from getting behind. Felipe Brandon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derek Edmonds having to interfere. Shepard FC's Florentin Chu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Ruth in the 38th minute of play. Absolon Gonzalez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Florentin Chu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Absolon Gonzalez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Absolon Gonzalez in the 46th minute of play forced Shepard FC's goalkeeper Florentin Chu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Noé Jeffries hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Florentin Chu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Absolon Gonzalez's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Anton Ruth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentin Chu having to interfere. When Anton Ruth came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Edzo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anton Ruth couldn't finish the play. Felipe Brandon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Derek Edmonds tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anton Ruth's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Florentin Chu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Noé Jeffries blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Derek Edmonds having to make a save. After some careless play in the Shepard FC defense, Anton Ruth kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florentin Chu. The Shepard FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florentin Chu should have stopped the shot. In the 83rd minute, Noé Jeffries hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 84 minutes into the match, Edzo AFC's Marion Brunelle broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jefferson Hemphill kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Derek Edmonds made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerold Beatty in the 88th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerold Beatty in the 89th minute of play forced Edzo AFC's goalkeeper Derek Edmonds to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathon Gibson in the 93rd minute of play forced Shepard FC's goalkeeper Florentin Chu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 95 minutes into the game, Absolon Gonzalez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Florentin Chu. Absolon Gonzalez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2.
