With a couple of smart ball manuevers Absolon Gonzalez in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hollis Horton saved Shalalth from getting behind. When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Sydney McKinney sped through Edzo AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Derek Edmonds. Anton Ruths short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Hollis Horton to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 17thth minute of the game Dwayne Corbin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Edzo AFC's Derek Edmonds was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Justin Bernard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Edzo AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shalalth the free kick. Justin Bernard hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Shalalth's Sydney McKinney got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dwayne Corbin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derek Edmonds having to interfere. In the 25th minute of the match Kurtis Burnette sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Derek Edmonds skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Edzo AFC's Absolon Gonzalez got a free kick in the 27th minute. Justin Bernard kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Dwayne Corbin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Papillion Méthot kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Edzo AFC's zone, Sydney McKinney stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Derek Edmonds came out of the goal and Sydney McKinney tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Sydney McKinney's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Derek Edmonds was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sydney McKinney in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Derek Edmonds saved Edzo AFC from getting behind. After the first half Shalalth were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dwayne Corbin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sydney McKinney scored 0-2 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Derek Edmonds, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Absolon Gonzalez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hollis Horton having to make a save. Sydney McKinney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Derek Edmonds tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd match minute, Edzo AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Blevins to maneuver through the defense. Sydney McKinney came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Derek Edmonds could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Dwayne Corbin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shalalth's supporters rose to their feet, but Dwayne Corbin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Derek Edmonds breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edzo AFC's Anton Ruth got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Shalalth's Hollis Horton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Ruth in the 71st minute of play.
