In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mawer's goalkeeper Peter Childress, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kegashka FC's Foster Bartley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Crowell in the 15th minute of play. Mawer's Edmundo Devine got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emon Rivers hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Kyle Madden was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 26 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mawer fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! Gaétan Jarrett walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When Léonce Gifford fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mawer's protests and gave Léonce Gifford a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 played minutes Mawer got a freekick which was hit by Léonce Gifford. Branden Mayer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Peter Childress tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mariano Crowell hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. It was beautiful to see Kegashka FC's Gaétan Jarrett in action when he in the 39th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Booker McGrath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Childress having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arlen Woodruff to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Roy Labossière shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peter Childress saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmundo Devine blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Foster Bartley having to make a save. Edmundo Devine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 61 minutes of play, Mawer's Florence Favreau made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Foster Bartley was left in no man's land by his defense there! 68 minutes into the match, Mawer's goal looked a bit too open when Arlen Woodruff came free, but Peter Childress reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 76 minutes, Arlen Woodruff made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Mawer's Peter Childress tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Kegashka FC's zone, Emon Rivers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Foster Bartley came out of the goal and Emon Rivers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roy Labossière received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Peter Childress tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 93 played minutes Mawer got a freekick which was hit by Jimmie Davila. Mariano Crowell's late challenge caught a Kegashka FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mariano Crowell helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th minute of the match Gaétan Jarrett shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Peter Childress showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
