Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Noé Jeffries in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The supporters of Kegashka FC booed when Shepard FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daron Darling didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kegashka FC's Gaétan Jarrett got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arlen Woodruff hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 13 minutes of play, Shepard FC's Jerold Beatty made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Foster Bartley was left in no man's land by his defense there! 21 minutes into the match, Kegashka FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jerold Beatty came free, but Foster Bartley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shepard FC's Florentin Chu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlen Woodruff in the 25th minute of play. Arlen Woodruff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Shepard FC's Greg Shannon got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute, Gaétan Jarrett sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Shepard FC's Florentin Chu didn't even have to move. If Booker McGrath had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Booker McGrath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Florentin Chu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 34 minutes, Greg Shannon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shepard FC and the Kegashka FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Florentin Chu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arlen Woodruff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipe Brandon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute Felipe Brandon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Foster Bartley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Florentin Chu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlen Woodruff in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerold Beatty to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arlen Woodruff in the 54th minute of play forced Shepard FC's goalkeeper Florentin Chu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 minutes, Arlen Woodruff mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kegashka FC and the Shepard FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Felipe Brandon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Jerold Beatty came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Shepard FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerold Beatty couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roy Labossière during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 86 played minutes Kegashka FC got a freekick which was hit by Roy Labossière. Shepard FC's Chi Brown couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 87th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Kegashka FC. Booker McGrath fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentin Chu having to interfere. The Shepard FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Shepard FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
